Desktopprinting differs from Printoffice results

Hi,

I had a document which came out very well from my office Deskjet as well as from a Laser printer.

When I gave the .pdf to a printing office to do the volume print, they delivered the documents but parts on the pages were not printed.

What do I have to do to get identical results on my office printer and from the printshop?

Sorry, I do not have any background on professional printing.
