Printing to PDF Always Fails

I've installed Adobe Acrobat XI Pro and successfully activated it. Along with the actual application, it automatically installs a print driver called Adobe PDF. I'd like to use this print driver to convert Microsoft Office files to PDFs. However, whenever I try to print to PDF in Word, it does not produce any new PDF file. Furthermore, it goes through the process of creating a PDF by asking me to title the new file and pick a place to save it. However, after I click save, it doesn't do anything. No error messages shown either. So, I'm pretty much stumped here.

When I try to print to PDF from the Acrobat XI Pro application, I get two error messages. The first says "The document could not be printed." and the second says "There were no pages selected to print." My reason for wanting to print to PDF from an existing PDF document is sizing. The existing PDF has some weird dimensions, like 8.25 by 11.75 and I'd like to resize to exactly 8.5 by 11. I used to be able to do this with no problems, but now I get these two error messages. If there's another way to resize besides using the print to PDF function, that would work, too.

My actual printers are working fine, just the Adobe PDF print driver is malfunctioning. I'm also on Windows 8.1 Pro and Office 2013. Thanks for the help.
