Printing PowerPoint Notes Page to pdf Horizontal Text Cropping in Slide

Hi

I’ve have a problem printing PowerPoint as pdf that I can’t resolve or find an answer to on the forums, or searching the internet, that I hope someone can help me sort out.

My OS is Windows 7 x64, I’m using PowerPoint 2013, and Adobe Acrobat Pro DC.

My problem is that when I print PowerPoint, Notes Page, to pdf some of the text in the slides (not the text in the notes beneath) can have horizontal cropping to the top and/or bottom of the text depending on the percentage view.

After printing and opening the file, it will open at 144% in my monitor and it looks fine.  If I change the view to 100% or 75%, then the horizontal top and bottom cropping of some of the text appears.  Text that isn’t cropped at 100% can be at 75% and vice versa. Some text isn’t cropped at all no matter the percentage.  All the horizontal cropping disappears when I enlarge to 125%.

I’ve checked the text box margins in PowerPoint and they are the same for all the text.  I tested printing a page with increased top and bottom text box margins but it made no difference.

The cropping can occur midway through the text where there are more than two lines.

The size of the text makes no difference to the problem.

The left and right ends of the text are never cropped, only the top and bottom.

It makes no difference if I change the printer settings to High Quality.

If I print the PowerPoint to slides as a pdf, or use the pdf Addin, there is no problem with the text in the slides no matter what percentage I view them at.  It is noticeable the image quality of these slides, which fill the screen, is much better than the slides on the Notes Page print out, where the slides occupy a smaller part of the screen with the notes text beneath.  I’m using the same printer settings for both.

The reason I need to print a Notes Page is because it contains an enhanced transcript to the Slides, which are largely visual, for distribution at a conference I presented at. The presentation slides alone are not adequate, and the Addin option of speaker notes to text annotations is not suitable.

Here's some screen grabs.

I’d be grateful for any suggestions.

Thanks
