Why do photographic images compress so poorly when simply converting a pdf/x4 to another color space?
Workflow for test duplication if interested:
Indesign containing hi res tagged AdobeRGB images, type etc exported to PDFx/4 retain embedded color taggs without converting imagery. Then convert that PDF to any CMYK space. The PDF converts successfully but the photographic images take a beating and show to many artifacts by being compressed. Is this a bug or is there a setting or preference somewhere to control this? Thanks
