Why is Acrobat Pro printing everything in grey scale?

Last night I tried to print a PDF that contains color, and it came out in grey scale. I discovered that this happens when I open the file with Adobe Acrobat Pro XI (the default association for filetype PDF).

When I use the version of Adobe Reader that I originally installed on my computer (version 9), I get color.

 

I've searched Acroat's s print options for a setting that might cause this, but I've found nothing. All I found was two options on the Print Properties dialog's Imaging tab named "Print text as black" and "Print graphics as black." Both of these are NOT checked.

 

What's making Acrobat behave this way, and how can I stop it?

I want to convert into black-and-white a PDF prepared for printing production. I choose "convert colors"> grey gamma 1,8. Only a part of a PDF changed. How to make the whole document converted?

Set Default Print Setup

Okay, you see how Paper Size says Legal?

I want to find out how to make it default to Letter because sometimes something will print, say from e-mail, as a PDF & I don't get the option to change it. And, frankly, sometimes I just wanna click Print & OK & be done with it.

And, yes, I've gone into Printer Properties a zillion times to make sure it's set to Letter there:

How to print a booklet at 100%

How can I print a booklet at 100%? When I print a booklet from Acrobat, it shrinks it slightly, about 5% or so (which I guessing is scale to fit). But I need the booklet printed at exactly 100%. Is this possible?

 

I have every version of Acrobat from version 9 all the way up to DC, so I can use whichever one that will get the job done. I am on a mac.

When printing 11x17pages, only half the page is printing. The first page prints fine, but from the second page onwards only half the page is printing.

Why won't certain Acrobat files view correctly?

When opening certain pdf files, the screen preview is not correct. The background layer does not show up. Sometimes though, the background will still print but sometimes it does not. I am on Mac in system Sierra and have tried these files on multiple computers including a pc, with extensions off etc. and always that same result. What I see is not what I get. If I place the pdf file in InDesign it will preview correctly and also export correctly so something InDesign does corrects the problem "most" of the time. However, this is an extra step I should not have to be doing just to get a proper preview of the file. I also have pitstop pro and have tried various preflight profiles resulting in "partial" fixes. I can do a "save as other - optimized pdf" and this will sometimes fix the problem but not with every file. The issue is occurring more and more often. Most of the pdf files I receive that are giving me a problem are generated from Powerpoint files. Below is a typical file demonstrating my issue. The file on the left is what I see when I open the pdf file and the file on the right is the correct view of the file after I had placed it in InDesign and exported it back out.

All PDFs printing as blank pages

Hello,

 

Anytime I try to print a pdf from my computer, the page comes out blank. I can print word documents and images just fine. I have downloaded all updates for my printer and for acrobat.

Printing PDF is slow with 64-bit

We recently "upgraded" to Vista 64 and installed Acrobat 9 Pro. Since then, pdf files print extremely slow on my HP Business Inkjet 2800. It takes a full 2 or 3 minutes to reach the printer, which is local, then it makes one pass, stops for about 30 seconds, and makes the next pass. At first I thought it was a printer issue, but I just tried printing a pdf from Acrobat Reader and everything was fine. The settings, as far as I can see, as the same in both programs. I'm using the PS driver on the printer. I can use the reader to print, but it's a pain creating a file in one program and having to load another just to print it.

Anybody run into this?

Windows and Mac Acrobat Pro DC no print window

We have several computers windows and mac over different versions of the OS having the same issue.

 

How ever to try to print you get no print window or you get a print window with no content or info.

 

uninstalling, removing cache and prefs and reinstalling does not fix this issue.

 

Acrobat DC Reader and all other office and adobe apps can print fine.

All PDFs now print mostly blank

I've spend the past three hours trying to figure out this problem.  Starting just recently (not entirely sure, I don't pay attention to when I print out PDFs), all PDFs that had any data fields are now printing mostly blank.  This is happening in both Acrobat 9 and the latest build of Reader.  Here's what I've done:

 

1. Updated all drivers (printer, etc) and software (Adobe products).  My Windows software (Windows 10) is up to date as well.

2. Made sure "print on both sides" is turned off

3. Yes, if I click "print as image" it sorta works - but the quality is terrible and is nothing close to the quality I have come to expect.

4.  Yes, I've gone to the Adobe page that tells me how to troubleshoot printing issues.  I have not yet tried printing on another printer/computer, but I can confirm that it is EVERY SINGLE PDF that has a form field of any kind (for example, my entire Turbotax PDF return has blank fields when printed).

 

It seems like this problem comes up from time to time, but it is entirely unclear whether there has ever been a single, official "fix".  Can ANYBODY help me with this - this is a crippling problem for my workflow.

Acrobat shows blank PDF in Print Preview

Opening a PDF in Acrobat DC works fine. When printing in Acrobat, though, the print preview (and the actual print) are blank.  I have been opening the file in Acrobat Reader DC and can print normally from there.  Really, really annoying.

Is Distiller dead?

Just got a call from a commercial printing customer who is upgrading to Creative Cloud and she was told there is no Distiller in CC.

 

Is that correct? I can't seem to find it addressed anywhere, but it doesn't seem reasonable to set up a dozen (or more) copies of InDesign with the correct PDF export settings, when you can set up one watched Distiller folder. Really not efficient.

AutoCAD to PDF - Flattening issues

Hello, how can we eliminate FLATTENING in our PDF to get them to print out quicker?  We are batch printing drawings from AutoCAD 2014 using DWGtoPDF.pc3 to PDF. When we go to print the PDF we get the FLATTENING issue and to print out a multiple 157 PDF document it takes hours to print out. We have tried other drivers like Bluebeam with the same results. If we use the ADOBE driver we don't the same quality as when we use the DWGtoPDF.pc3.

Unable to print pdfs on Mac OS X Sierra

Hi, since I updated my Mac from OS X El Capitan to Sierra, I'm facing several problems. One is, that can't print PDFs anymore (other file types o.k.). I get the message:

Gestoppt "Filter" fehlgeschlagen

What kind of "Filter" is the system talking about?

Anyway, I thought maybe reinstalling Acrobat Reader would help, but that won't work either. In the middle ion "Paketskripte ausführen" it tells me:

Derzeit wird eine Instanz von Adobe Reader ausgeführt. Schließen Sie die Anwendung für alle Benutzer und wiederholen Sie den Vorgang

To what "instanz" is the system referring and what "Anwendung" should I close.

I'm completely stuck. Can you help? Thanks a lot, Mojo

printing multiple documents in single pdf on double sided printer

What is the best way to print a PDF document with a large number of documents so that the start of a successive document does not end up printing on the back page of the prior document? Each document has a cover page and could be used as a "key", but not sure how to set that "cover page" as the key which could then be used to instruct the printer to start on a new page - almost as if a new print job??

Unable to print to a PDF

I've gone around and around with support and the forms and I am still unable to print a document to PDF.

 

Windows 8.1

Adobe Acrobat XI Pro

 

I have ABS PDF Driver v400 as a printer option, but it does not work. 

 

I have tried all of the Adobe PDF Converters when Adding a Printer.

 

I get this error -

 

 

I have been able to print to a PDF for a long time, but I had to re-install Adobe.  Since then I've had issues.

booklet prints every other page upside down

When I try to print a booklet, every other page prints upside down. I've set it up as f&b, short edge bind, legal/landscape, with booklet selected.
